Do you know God?

Posted by Blue Goose

My friend how well do you know God?  I thought about this question and came to the conclusion that I do not know Him as well as I ought to.

So I went to my Bible and found out some things about God some of these are things that I knew and some of them are new truths to me.  This is by no means an extensive list of all about God, but just something to spark an interest to get our minds thinking about something other than all of our worries.

We can have access to God

Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. (Job 22:21 KJV)

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (James 4:8 KJV)

The LORD God is not faraway where we cannot reach out in our times of trouble and distress.

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. (Jeremiah 33:3 KJV)

We can have blessings through God

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: (Ephesians 1:3 KJV)

We can be children of God

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12 KJV)

We can have faith in God

Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. (Psalms 22:4 KJV)

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. (Mark 11:22 KJV)

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6 KJV)

We can have the gift of God

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23 KJV)

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV)

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (James 1:17 KJV)
