You're just like Adam & Eve!
You see, they made the same mistake that you just did. All they had to do was follow one rule, and they disobeyed - JUST LIKE YOU DID!
"And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die" (Genesis 2:16,17)
"She took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also to her husband with her; and he did eat." (Genesis 3:6)
Why did they disobey? For partly the same reason that YOU JUST DID - CURIOSITY! You just had to click on that button to see what would happen, didn't you? And Adam and Eve just had to find out for themselves what could be possibly so bad about eating a little fruit from that tree! The world has never been the same since that day.
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for all have sinned." (Romans 5:12)
What else is there that draws people to disobey, JUST LIKE YOU DID? God mentions three things in this world that PULL YOU TO SIN.
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the LUST OF THE FLESH, and the LUST OF THE EYES, and the PRIDE OF LIFE, is not of the Father, but is of the world." (I John 2:15,16)
Let's check out the first one --- the LUST OF THE FLESH, and see how it affected Eve.
"And the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." (Genesis 3:6)
Eve's flesh is now attracted to the fruit, because she sees that it is "good for food." There is no limit to what people will do to satisfy the FLESH! Whether it is EATING, or IMMORAL RELATIONSHIPS, or ALCOHOL, or DRUGS, people love to "satisfy their flesh." WHAT ABOUT YOU?
Let's check out another one that caused Eve's fall.
"The woman saw....that it was pleasant to the eyes." How many people are hopelessly in debt, because something LOOKED TOO GOOD to pass up, and they bought it? How many people are now separated from their husband/wife, because someone else LOOKED TOO GOOD to pass by, and they committed adultery? People love to "satisfy the eyes." WHAT ABOUT YOU? Watch out! God says, "The eye is not satisfied with seeing." (Ecclesiastes 1:8) But YOU probably knew that from experience, didn't you?
The last one to check out:
The woman saw it was "A tree to be desired to make one wise." Everyone likes to think he/she is a little smarter than the next guy. HOW ABOUT YOU?
Do YOU think that you are good enough to get into heaven? God SAYS YOU ARE NOT. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) "There is none good but one, that is God." (Matthew 19:17)
Do You think that there are many ways to heaven, as long as people are sincere in their religion? GOD SAYS THERE ARE NOT. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me." (John 14:6) "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
What should YOU do? QUIT trying to COVER UP that YOU are a sinner, and confess to God. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19) STOP trying to PUT ON A SHOW that you are religious. Without Jesus Christ, YOU are lost and headed for hell.
"Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity." (Matthew 23:28) Now DO NOT WAIT until YOU are old to trust Jesus Christ. You have NO guarantee of another day.
"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." (James 4:14)
CALL upon Jesus NOW to save YOU.
"Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." (II Corinthians 6:2)
The question is, WILL YOU ACCEPT JESUS as your Saviour --- as the payment for your sin?
The Bible says, "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures" (I Corinthians 15:3,4)
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:9-11&13)
Sincerely pray: " Dear Jesus, please forgive me of my sins and save me. I do believe that you died on the cross for me, and then arose from the grave. I am now trusting in you alone to take me to heaven. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus' name Amen."
